Who doesn’t love to see behind the scenes? To watch how something is made satisfies our natural curiosity, gives us an appreciation of the skill involved in a craft and…well it’s also very therapeutic!
We have lots of visitors to our lighting showroom and workshop. Some visitors want to see first hand the wide range of restored antique lighting we have. You can easily search our website for an Arts and Crafts chandelier but for some customers, nothing beats seeing it in front of you. Maybe you want to swap the vaseline glass shades for another colour or style. Maybe you can’t choose between two art nouveau chandeliers and want to see them hung together to help make that final decision.
Some customers make the journey to our South Derbyshire workshop to discuss a bespoke lighting project. The handmade lighting in our Ashby Collection is made to your specifications. Become a part of the process by choosing the metal finish, cable colour and vaseline glass shade of your bespoke light.
For those who aren’t able to visit us just yet, we have a short video below for you to sit back and enjoy. This follows Martin’s creative journey from archive research on lighting designer WAS Benson through pressing of laser cut copper decorative pieces, stamping with our Ashby stamp, assembly and wiring of our unique lighting. It’s the perfect blend of old methods meets new technology. We like to think that the original Arts and Crafts lighting designers would approve.

We also have in-house capability to design and manufacture lighting for projects both domestic, retail, hospitality and film.
Don’t forget we also have a large range of antique lighting for visitors to view. Who knows there may be the perfect art nouveau table lamp just waiting for you…
