This month we are really proud to announce that our Witch’s Hat Pendant Lights and other products from our hand made Ashby Collection are featured on set in the new Wicked Musical. The witch’s hat with green vaseline glass shade really is perfect for the scenes set in the Emerald City. Supplying film sets is always exciting and we have supplied antique lighting to many films but to supply our own Ashby Collection to the biggest film of the year really has been an exciting achievement for us!
Back to the witch’s Hat. This light is based on an early 20th century arts and crafts classic style by William Benson. We loved the simple styling so much that we decided to pay tribute to it by making our own classic version. It’s very important to us that every element is 100% designed and manufactured in the UK. The copper gallery bears our Ashby stamp. In the midst of the design process we nick-named this light The Witch’s Hat which then then just sounded so perfect that we decided to officially christen it with that name. Was the choice of name coincidence or was it fate that took it all the way to the Emerald City and Wicked?
